2. Theme- Think about the style of wedding you want. Do you have a theme? If there is a medieval theme or a 60s theme then the music should match. If you want a formal wedding then a rock cover band will not be a good fit. Do you want people to dance? If you imagined a square dance then ensure you source a band who knows how to call one.
3. Venue - Some venues may not be equipped with the appropriate sound system or space to accommodate every band. When you decide on a venue you need to assess which options are available. Some venues may also be subject to licensing and noise restrictions. There would be no point hiring a live band to play at a venue which cannot have live music at night.
